Wykham Park students Arash Kaur and Harry Fitzwater had the opportunity to visit Harriers Banbury Academy and share their NASA trip experience with children in Years 3-6. From the moment the presentation began, the students’ curiosity and enthusiasm shone through. They listened intently about the journey through NASA’s cutting-edge facilities and the behind-the-scenes look at space exploration.

One of the highlights was hearing about Arash and Harry’s hands-on experience piloting the lunar rover over simulated craters and rocky terrain. Their eyes lit up as they described what it felt like to drive a vehicle designed for future space missions. They were also fascinated by the Aspirations group’s private tour of NASA’s Houston Space Center, especially when students visited the Mission Control Center and saw real-time communication with astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

Throughout the session, the students asked thoughtful questions, eager to learn more about the technology, engineering and teamwork behind space travel. Their excitement turned the presentation into an interactive discussion, making the experience even more rewarding.

Opportunities like these remind us how powerful real-world experiences can be – not too long ago, Harry and Arash were standing in the same shoes as these young learners – now they are sparking the curiosity and ambition of others. Who knows – perhaps one of these young Harriers will be part of the next generation of scientists, engineers, or even astronauts.

Congratulations to Arash and Harry on a pitch-perfect presentation.
