Students from Futures Institute were excellent ambassadors for the school, making the recent trip to Wimbledon a success.
Before heading to Court 1, the students had ample time to explore the grounds, capture some memorable photos, and watch a few matches on the outside courts. Molly and Charlie even got the opportunity to be interviewed by ITV, thanks to their brilliant hats, adding an extra bit of excitement to the day.
Students saw two thrilling all-British matches. The first was an upset as world rank no 23, Katie Boulter lost out on a tie-break to Harriet Dart, losing 6-4, 1-6, 6-7. This was followed by another tense encounter as Jack Draper and Cameron Norrie battled for a place in Round 3. Norrie got the better of a tight match (7-6,6-4,7-6), scoring 28 points through progressive play at the net. The students enjoyed an afternoon of top-tier tennis, watching matches of an excellent standard.
Unfortunately, the group had to leave before the third match on Court 1, but the overall experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It was a day filled with excitement, great tennis, and a few surprises.
