FAQs about a career at Banbury Aspirations Campus
How do I apply?
For any teaching role that has been advertised please visit our TES website to submit an application.
Can I apply with a CV?
All candidates should apply using our application form. This is in accordance with our Safer Recruitment protocol. CVs will not be considered.
Do you sponsor candidates for work permits?
Currently we have several colleagues who we sponsor for work permits and visas. Certificates of sponsorship are very difficult to obtain unless you are trained to teach in a subject area which is deemed a shortage subject by government departments
When can I expect to hear the outcome of my application?
We make every effort to contact applicants within 7 working days of the closing date of an application.
What can I expect on interview day?
The outline of the interview process will depend on the role we are recruiting for. For a teaching role you can expect the following (subject to Covid restrictions at the time):
- A tour of the school
- A 1 hour lesson observation of a colleague in the school. This will be referred to in the interview
- A 1 hour lesson that you teach in your subject area to an appropriate group
- A GCSE exam (A level if appropriate) in which you are expected to get at least a Level 7
- If all of these go well there will then be a formal interview with a panel of senior staff
Who can be my referee and when will they be contacted?
You must provide the details of two referees as part of the application process. One of the referees must be your current or most recent employer. The second referee should be your previous employer where possible.
A standard part of our recruitment process is to request references prior to interview. If you do not want your referee(s) to be contacted prior to interview, please make sure you state this in your application.
